How I Monetized My Blog with Affiliate Links (No Hosting, No Coding, No Ads)

I always thought you needed a fancy website and a paid course to make money with blogging.

But when I figured out affiliate marketing — and how to do it without hosting or spending a rupee — everything changed.

Today, I’ll break down exactly how I use affiliate links on my Blogger site (and even on Notion or Medium) to make passive income from content I already enjoy writing.

💰 What is Affiliate Marketing?

It’s simple: You recommend a product or tool. If someone clicks your link and buys it, you earn a commission — no extra cost to them.

It works like a digital referral system.

  • 📌 Example: I write a post about “Best Free AI Tools” and link to one on Gumroad.
  • 🤑 Someone buys → I earn ₹100 to ₹1,000+ depending on the offer.

🔍 Step 1: Choose Your Affiliate Platforms

You don’t need Amazon or big networks to start. I began with small but high-paying ones:

Just sign up, get your referral link, and you’re good to go.

📝 Step 2: Write Helpful, Honest Content

This is where most people go wrong. Don’t just drop links. Solve problems first.

Here’s how I format mine:

  • Blog Title: “Best Free AI Tools for Students (2025 List)”
  • Intro: Share real struggles or why the tools matter
  • Body: List tools with pros, use-cases, and an honest review
  • Affiliate Link: Add a clear button or CTA like “Try Tool Name Free →”

Important: I only recommend tools I’ve tested or used — otherwise readers lose trust.

🔗 Step 3: Add Affiliate Links in Blogger

In Blogger:

  • Go to your post editor
  • Highlight the text you want (like “Try Jasper AI Free”)
  • Click the 🔗 “Link” button → Paste your affiliate link → Apply

Optional: Use buttons or images to make links more visible. Just remember to open in new tab.

📌 Bonus: Add a Disclosure (Required!)

Always let readers know you may earn a commission — it's legally and ethically important.

Not life-changing, but it’s income from posts I’d write anyway. And it keeps growing as my traffic grows.
