How One Evergreen Blog Post Brings Me Traffic Every Month (and How You Can Do It Too)

Posted on: June 28, 2025

Most of my blog posts spike for a few days… and then disappear into the Google void.

But there’s one post — just one — that keeps getting clicks every single month.

No ads. No social media. No new updates.

It’s what bloggers call an “evergreen blog post.” And today I’m going to show you exactly how I created mine — and how you can write yours too.

🌱 What is an Evergreen Blog Post?

An evergreen blog post is a piece of content that stays relevant for a long time — months, even years.

It solves a problem or answers a question that people search for again and again. Think:

  • “How to write a resume for freshers”
  • “How to make cold coffee at home”
  • “Best morning routines for students”

The topic doesn’t expire with trends — it solves something timeless.

🔍 Step 1: Find a Problem People Search for Again and Again

Here’s how I found my topic:

  1. Typed broad ideas into Google (e.g., “blog traffic,” “study hacks”)
  2. Checked Google’s People Also Ask and Auto-Suggestions
  3. Picked something I could explain easily and uniquely

My evergreen post? “How I Got My First 100 Visitors on Blogger (Free Traffic Only)”

Why it works:

  • 🔄 It's relatable (beginner-friendly)
  • 🔍 It matches what people Google (real search terms)
  • 🙋 I shared personal experience — not generic info

📝 Step 2: Structure It to Rank on Google

I followed a clean SEO structure:

  • Title: Clear, problem-focused, 60 characters max
  • Intro: Hook the reader with personal story or pain point
  • Subheadings (H2): Break the post into steps or benefits
  • H3s: Use sub-points under each H2 for clarity
  • Bullet Points: Readers skim — so I made key info scannable

I also included:

  • ✔ Real screenshots (or examples)
  • ✔ A call to action at the end (like “comment your blog below”)
  • ✔ Internal links to 2–3 related posts

🔁 Step 3: Update It Every 2–3 Months

I don’t write new posts — I just keep updating this one.

Every few months, I:

  • ✅ Add 1 new tip I discovered
  • ✅ Replace broken links or screenshots
  • ✅ Add any trending tools or features

Every time I update it, I go to Google Search Console and click “Request Indexing” — this helps Google re-crawl it faster.

📊 The Results (Last 90 Days)

  • 📈 2,300+ impressions
  • 🔗 300+ clicks (no sharing, no ads)
  • 📌 3 new email subscribers (from that one post)

This one post became my top performer — and I barely touch it anymore.

💡 Evergreen Blog Post Ideas (Pick One and Go)

  • “How I Saved ₹10,000 in 30 Days”
  • “A Beginner’s Guide to Freelancing in India”
  • “How to Plan a Study Schedule That Actually Works”
  • “Step-by-Step: How to Start a Blog on Mobile (Free Tools)”
  • “10 Questions I Asked Myself Before Starting a Business”

Pick ONE. Write it honestly. Use real experience. That’s what sticks.

🙌 Final Thoughts

You don’t need to write 30 blogs a month. Just write one that solves a real problem, structure it smartly, and update it consistently.

That one post could quietly work for you 24/7 — even while you sleep.
